Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik attended the mega blood donation programme ‘Jiban Bindu’ at the State Party office today.
The BJD president praised the initiative of party workers, which is undertaken as social service for poor and underprivileged people.
To celebrate Naveen’s 73rd birthday today, the BJD is organizing blood donation camps across the State.
Notably, the ruling party launched the Jiban Bindu programme in 2015 on the occasion of Biju Patnaik’s Birthday that called for the people of the state for voluntary blood donation.
With the help of all the organizational wings of the Biju Janata Dal, the program has turned into a movement and till date more than 3 lakh 8 thousand units of blood has been collected.
A major role was played by the youth and student wings of the party in this initiative.
