BJD candidate Saroj Kumar Meher has filed the petition under the provisions of Sections 80 to 84 and Section 100 of the Representation of People Act in the court seeking to declare the election of the Deputy Chief Minister as void on the ground of improper acceptance of his nomination papers by the Returning Officer, despite of non-compliance with the provisions of the RP Act as well as the rules and orders made under the Act.
