Odia Officer Appointed Vice Chief of Indian Army

Bhubaneswar: Odia army officer Lieutenant General Chandi Prasad Mohanty has been appointed Vice Chief of Indian Army.

Lt Gen CP Mohanty will be relieving Lt Gen SK Saini, who is retiring on January 31 as the 42nd Vice Chief of Indian Army.

Mohanty is the first Odia Officer to be appointed as Vice Chief of Army. ,

He is a highly decorated, officer. He studied in Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun and did his military training in National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun.

Lt Gen Mohanty is the eldest son of JK Mohanty & Late Dr. Sarada Kumari Mohanty of Jagatsinghpur
