Koraput: In a significant development, the Koraput district administration has clamped shutdown in Borrigumma block for five days following a 58-year-old man tested COVID-19 positive.
According to the reports, the man, who is a health worker, tested positive after coming from Ganjam. After his return, he came in contact with over 100 persons in Borrigumma and its peripheral areas, reports said.
Subsequently, a woman teacher, also in contact with the man and tested tested positive for the Coronavirus later. According to reports, some of her students also exposed to the virus.
Meanwhile, the district administration has asked the teachers not to take tuition classes and requested the parents not to send their children to the tuition classes.
The Borigumma Block has reported 9 positive cases.
