Cuttack: Further strengthening its fight against COVID-19 pandemic, the Odisha Government has started operating one more dedicated COVID hospital in Cuttack for the treatment of patients.
A 500-bedebed dedicated COVID hospital has started functioning at SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack, informed the Odisha Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
The hospital has 70 ICU beds, obstetrics & surgery facilities and isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients.
“Further strengthening fight against #COVID19 pandemic, a 500-bed dedicated Covid Hospital has started functioning at SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack. It has 70 ICU beds, obstetrics & surgery facilities and isolation facilities for COVID-19 patients”, the CMO tweeted.
The 500-bedded hospital will greatly augment our ability to handle cases or sudden spikes if they happen in the future, said CMC Commissioner Ananya Das.
Further the availability of dialysis and gynaec facilities also ensures that patients with specific ailments who are COVID positive will also receive care, she added.
Odisha has been witnessing improvement in the COVID-19 pandemic situation in the State with consistent drop in daily caseload to less than 2000 and more number of recoveries.
According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, as many as 2,68,115 COVID-19 patients have recovered in the State.
The active cases in the State now stand at 16,030.
