Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance has traced the absconding junior engineer of state Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWS&S) department who fled when the vigilance officials arrived at his residence following allegations of accumulation of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Junior engineer Sunil Kumar Padhy was reportedly nabbed from a neighbour’s house after around seven hours.
The Vigilance sleuths have unearthed properties worth over crores during the searches on properties linked to the junior engineer.
During house searches so far, the assets have been unearthed in the name of Padhy and his family members include triple storeyed building located over plot No.500/5120, Mallick Complex, Padhy Villa, Jagamara, Bhubaneswar worth approx Rs.1.10 crore, one market complex at Aska, Ganjam; cash Rs 3,40,000; one four wheeler and 4 two wheelers, 17 bank accounts in different banks, insurance, postal and other deposits.

Teams of vigilance headed by six Deputy Superintendents of Police, three Inspectors, seven Assistant Sub Inspectors and other staff carried out raids at five places related to Padhy in Bhubaneswar and Ganjam district.
