Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan Receives SKOCH AWARD for Students’ Skill Development Initiatives

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) has received the prestigious SKOCH Award for its students’ skill development initiatives.

“The SKOCH AWARD has been conferred upon OAVS for its students’ skill development initiatives on April 30, 2021 at New Delhi”, the School & Mass Education (SME) Department informed through its twitter handle.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated the SME Department for the achievement.
“Congratulations to @SME Odisha on OAVS being conferred with the prestigious SKOCH Award for implementing skill development initiatives for students. This initiative will ensure holistic development of students in the state’s OAVs”, Naveen tweeted.

The OAVS is an initiative of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to promote the rural talents by inculcating the 21st century learning skills through a holistic and integral approach for their physical and aesthetic development, apart from academic fineness.

The OAVS provides free quality education in English to the students, especially from semi-urban and rural areas, from across the state.

The Adarsha Vidyalayas have been established at the Block Headquarter in all the 314 Blocks of Odisha, at Secondary and Senior Secondary level from Classes VI to XII.

These schools play a key role in spreading modern education in remote parts in the State, while integrating the students of small towns and villages with mainstream education.
