Odisha Approves Incentives for Healthcare Personnel Engaged in COVID Duty

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has approved a proposal on paying incentives for the healthcare personnel engaged in COVID-19 duty in the State.

The healthcare personnel, such as doctors, paramedics and Class-IV employees working at COVID hospital, COVID health centres and COVID care centres will receive incentives for their service, said the Health & Family Welfare Department.

While the State Government has fixed Rs 1000 incentive for doctors per day, paramedics (staff nurses, pharmacists, radiographers, laboratory assistants) and Class-IV employees will get incentive amount of Rs 500 and Rs 200 respectively per day.

These above categories of employees are entitled to avail the incentives for those days in which they are in active line of duty in contact with the COVID-19 patients in COVID health facilities, a notification issued by the Health Department said.

The expenditure for incentives will be spent from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), it added.
