Odisha Assembly Budget Session Starts From Today

Bhubaneswar: The Budget Session of the Odisha Assembly will begin today. It will be the last session of the State Assembly before the elections that are set to be held in the month of April. The Session will have seven working days with the Finance Minister Bikram Keshari Arukha is scheduled to present the Interim Budget for the financial year 2024-25 on the 8th of this month. Foolproof security arrangements have been made in the Capital by the Commissionerate Police. DGP Arun Sarangi yesterday reviewed the arrangements and took stock of the three layered security apparatus. In total 28 platoons of police will be deployed around the Assembly.

Along with this, SOG, Special Striking Force, Bomb Disposal Team, Quick Action Team, Dog Squad and Fire Department teams are also deployed. CCTVs have been installed on roads starting from the Assembly to Lower PMG, Rabindra Mandap and nearby roads. Temporary police control rooms have been set up at five places. More than 100 police personnel, including eight additional DCPs, 16 ACPs, have been deployed.
