Berhampur: Odisha Assembly House Committee on Child and Women Development has visited Ganjam district to review implementation of various welfare schemes and programmes.
The 10-member panel led by chairperson and MLA Usha Devi visited Sanakhemundi block and accessed the quality of Chatua distributed at Anganwadi Kendra for children.
The panel inspected a Chauta manufacturing unit at Konkorada village and accessed the quality of Badam ladoo made by self-help groups.
The House Committee also attended a ‘Mo Ghela Jhia’ programme at the panchayat office and appreciated the initiative of the district administration towards bridging gender gap.
During its Ganjam tour, the panel paid a visit to famous Taratarini temple, the presiding deity of the district.
Chief priest of Taratarini temple Bapuji Rana apprised the team about the ongoing development projects at the shrine and sought their timely completion.
The Committee assured the sevayats that necessary steps will be taken in this regard.
