Odisha Assembly Passes Srimandir Parikrama Plan

Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, the Odisha Legislative Assembly today unanimously passed the Srimandir Parikrama plan in the House today.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik tabled the resolution in the House.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “This is the plan of 4.5 crore Odia people. Lord Jagannath is the greatest identity of Odia people.

Lord Jagannath is the symbol of Odia esteem and pride. All devotees have a desire to see deities in a calm, beautiful and spiritual environment, he said.

Getting glimpse of the Lord is the only prayer of millions of devotees and it’s a lifetime memory. It is the responsibility of all of us to come back with a divine feeling, he said.

The Chief Minister highlighted the three objectives of the Srimandir Parikrama Plan, which include security of the temple, safety of the millions of devotees who for darshan of the Lord and creating a beautiful spiritual environment for devotees.

The Plan has been prepared following several discussions with the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration and various stakeholders. It has been approved at a meeting chaired by Gajapati King on February 15 and sent to the Government for final approval.
