Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Assembly will pass a special resolution in the house today congratulating the Indian Men’s and Women’s Hockey teams. The resolution is expected to be passed unanimously by all the members of the house. The Indian Men’s Hockey team has won the Bronze Medal at the recently held Tokyo Olympics 2020. This was the first medal for the Indian Hockey team after a gap of 41 years and has been mainly credited to the efforts of the Government of Odisha’s encouragement to the sport in India.
Likewise, the Indian Women’s Hockey team has also for the first time entered the semifinals and showed a commendable play at the Olympics. Odisha is the sponsor of the Indian Hockey teams and has been helping them with financial and infrastructure support for the last many years.
