Bhubaneswar: Two of Odisha’s most ambitious digital governance initiatives Odisha One and Mo Seva Kendra have again brought laurels for the state – this time at the APAC India Digital Empowerment Meet organized by the APAC News Network. The Award was presented to the Electronics and IT Department, Government of Odisha, under the category Digital Empowered State of The Year for facilitation of all state Government services through digital platforms under Odisha One and Mo Seba Kendra initiatives.
The Odisha One initiative brings all government services of the state under one unified portal where more than 250 services have already been added and another 150 services will be included in the coming months. Taken up under the 5T Initiatives gambit to accelerate digital governance, the Odisha One has been able to leverage technology for the betterment of the common man. Within a short span of time, the Odisha One unified portal has been successful and has ensured swift delivery of online services to millions. It is a one stop platform for citizens to access all government services. All e-governance portals run by various departments are linked with the Odisha One portal.
The Mo Seba Kendra initiative on the other hand ensures digital governance services at the citizens doorsteps. Each and every Gram Panchayat in the state will have a common public services delivery center to help common man get all the government services. While more than 3000 Mo Seba kandras have been activated another 4000 will be in service in total. People can visit the nearby Mo Seba Kendra for payment of electricity and water bills, receiving necessary certificates, payment of taxes, etc.
Commenting on the awards received by Odisha at the APAC India Digital Empowerment Meet, Manoj Kumar Mishra, Secretary, Electronics and IT, Government of Odisha, says that “This is another feather in the cap of successes Odisha has been receiving in the Digital Governance area. Our Odisha one portal has started giving results and people are very happy with the unified portal. The Mo Seba Kendras have become an integral part of our public services delivery mechanism in a record time. The time is not so far when we can see a Mo seba Kendra in every nook and cornor of the state. Under the 5T Initiatives, both the Odisha One portal and the Mo Seba Kendras will lead the transformation of the state.”
