Odisha By-polls: 40.51 Per cent Voter Turnout till 1 PM

Bhubaneswar: By-elections to two Assembly constituencies in Odisha recorded a voter turnout of 40.51 per cent till 1 PM.

While the voter turnout in Balasore Sadar constituency was 41.36 per cent and the turnout in Tritol segment was 39.68 per cent, according to the CEO.

Voting has started from 7 AM today adhering to COVID-19 guidelines.

This is the first election in the state after the pandemic.
Keeping pandemic in mind and controlling crowd, the number of voters in each polling booth has been restricted to 1000.

The number of booths in Tirtol constituency has been increased from 265 to 373, and in Balasore Sadar constituency from 198 to 346.

As many as 2,37,282 voters in Tirtol and 2,30,297 voters in Balasore Sadar will be allowed to exercise their franchise between 7 AM and 6 PM.

All booths are being sanitized frequently.
