Odisha: CESU Ex-DGM’s Assets worth Rs 8,33,528 Confiscated 

Bhubaneswar: A Special Court here on Wednesday passed order for confiscating assets worth Rs.8,33,528 of Damodar Das, Ex-DGM, Electrical, CESU, Bhubaneswar in a confiscation case filed by Odisha Vigilance.

“Today , the Authorised Officer, Special Court, BBSR has passed order for confiscating assets worth Rs.8,33,528 including 2 plots in BBSR, of Damodar Das, Ex. DGM, Electrical, CESU, BBSR in a confiscation case filed by Odisha Vigilance vide No 13/15”, the Vigilance informed.

Earlier, Das was convicted on 25.8.2022 in a case lodged by Odisha Vigilance for possession of DA. He was also convicted on 30.3.2012 in a trap case and convicted to 2 years jail and fine of Rs.30,000.

In all DA cases against senior ranks, Odisha Vigilance simultaneously launches confiscation proceedings in Special Courts. Odisha was the first state to enact the Spl. Courts Act, 2006 for speedy trial and confiscation of disproportionate assets of senior public servants acquired through corrupt means, the Vigilance stated.

Odisha Vigilance is committed to take strong action against corrupt practices by government/public servants, including confiscation of properties acquired through corrupt means, in the future, it added.
