Odisha CM Approves Promotion of 63 Thousand Primary Teachers

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved the promotion of 63,303 primary teachers in the state. The government has also decided to reduce the residency period for the primary teachers to get promoted. This will facilitate in filling up teacher posts in various subjects in the upper primary schools and appointment of headmasters in both the categories. The decision will help better management of the schools and improve the study environment.

With this decision, 29,759 assistant teachers of 5A category will get promoted to the 5B category. Likewise, 29,759 teachers of 5B category will get promoted to the Level-4. About 3785 Level-4 headmasters will also get promoted to the Level-3. The government has reduced the residency period of Level-5B assistant teachers from one year to six months. The residency period required for promotion from Level-4 to Level-3 has also been reduced from two years to one year.

The Chief Minister has congratulated all the teachers who are going to be promoted and appealed them to contribute in the state government’s endeavor to provide qualitative education in the state.
