Odisha CM Pays Humble Tributes to Freedom Fighter Bhagat Singh on Birth Anniversary

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has paid his humble tributes to revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary today.

“Humble tributes to revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary. The country will never forget his supreme sacrifice for our independence. His valour, sacrifice and love for motherland will continue to inspire generations”, the Odisha Chief Minister tweeted.

Bhagat Singh was on this day in 1907 in Banga village of Lyallpur district of undivided Punjab province. He was a charismatic Indian socialist revolutionary whose two acts of dramatic violence against the British in India and execution at the age of 23 made him a folk hero of the Indian Independence movement.
Bhagat Singh was hanged in the Lahore jail along with Shivaram Hari Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar on March 23, 1931.
