Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reviewed the preparedness to tackle impending tropic severe cyclone ‘Fani’, which is likely to hit the coast of the State on May 3.
Chairing a high level review meeting at State Secretariat this evening, Naveen said that every life is precious and directed the administration to ensure100 percent evacuation in the vulnerable areas.
He also expressed confidence on zero casualty approach that his government followed in the previous disasters.
The Chief Minister also emphasized on early restoration of power water supply and road communication in the possible affected areas.
The Government has set the target of evacuating nearly 8 lakh people living in mud-and-thatch homes in low-lying areas in coastal villages to safer places by tomorrow, sources said.
