Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to visit the SCB Medical College and Hospital today to review the proposed expansion work that aims to transform the State’s premier medical institute into a world class facility.
As per plans, the Odisha Government has decided to acquire about 25 acres of land, including the land of some departments on the periphery of the SCB Hospital for the expansion work.
Official residence of 13 senior doctors and professors and Class IV employees inside and outside the hospital premises will be shifted as part of the initiative.
The process of land acquisition will be completed by February 28 while the expansion work will start from March 1.
Notably, on the eve of Chief Minister’s proposed tour to Cuttack, Secretary to the CM’s Transformation and Initiatives (5T) VK Pandian on Wednesday visited the SCB and reviewed the expansion works.
