Bhubaneswar: Cold wave condition will continue to prevail in several districts of Odisha for next two days, said the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar in its afternoon bulletin.
Some places in the state will also witness a wet spell from January 1st to 3rd, the bulletin stated.
“Cold wave condition is very likely to prevail at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Balasore, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Boudh, Cuttack, Puri, Khurda, Kalahandi and Bolangir from December 29 to 30. Besides, cold wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi, Bonalgir, Sonepur, Angul, Keonjhar, and Deogarh from Dec 30 to 31,” the IMD bulletin read.
The IMD further said that the light to moderate rain or thundershower is very likely to occur at isolated places in the state on January 1st.
Thunderstorm with lightning and hail is very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Sundergarh, Deogarh, Angul, Cuttack, Sonepur and Boudh from January 2nd to 3rd.
While, the minimum temperature (night) is very likely to gradually rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next 24 hours over the districts of Odisha, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of South Odisha during next 2-3 days.
As per the observations in the past 24 hours, severe cold wave conditions prevailed at one or two places over the district of Angul of North Interior Odisha and cold wave conditions prevailed at one or two places over the districts of Odisha. Dense fog has occurred at one or two places over the district of Kalahandi of South Interior Odisha and shallow to moderate fog has occurred at one or two places over the districts of South Interior Odisha. Weather has been dry over the districts of Odisha. Minimum temperatures observed Appreciable fall over South Interior Odisha and no large change over the districts of rest Odisha.
