Odisha: Collectors Authorized to Accord Full Administrative Approval in Respect of Expenditures for Ama Hospital Initiative

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government is gearing up to transform 147 health facilities in the first phase under the 5T Initiative “Ama Hospital” by October this year.

For the timely implementation of the works under the initiative, the State Government has authorized Collectors to accord full administrative approval in respect of all expenditures under “Ama Hospital”, the Health and Family Welfare Department informed.

Besides, the District Level Committee (DLC) has been empowered to take decision at their level for allocation of Ama Hospital works to PWD or for departmental execution or through any other selected agency maintaining transparent procedure for timely completion, it added.

The State Government has plans to transform all Community Health Centres (CHCs), Sub-divisional Health Centres (SDHs) and District Head Quarter Hospitals (DHHs) under ‘Ama Hospital’ initiative in phases.

The transformation of all public health facilities of the districts will be undertaken on four identified aspects such as refurbishing physical health infrastructure, strengthening basic patient amenities, improving service delivery and quality certification of health facilities, the Health and Family Welfare stated.
