Bhubaneswar: Achieving another significant milestone in its fight against coronavirus, Odisha has conducted more than one lakh COVID-19 tests in two days.
The State has tested 50,411 samples for the detection of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, informed Health Department Additional Chief Secretary PK Mohapatra on Monday.
As per the data, 5,639 RT-PCR tests, 44,640 antigen tests and 142 truenat tests have been conducted at different labs in the State in the last 24 hours.
Odisha had conducted 52,795 tests the previous day.
Meanwhile, the positivity rate has significantly dropped to 5.5% on August 16 from 9.2% a month ago.
As announced by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to ramp up Covid-19 testing, the State is conducting over 50k tests daily and is targeting to increase it to one lakh tests.
