Cuttack: The much talked about elections for the various posts of office-bearers of Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) is underway in Cuttack. The elections are being conducted under the supervision of Electoral Officer ML Majumdar. The elections started at 11 AM and the process will be complete by evening. There are six office bearer posts i.e., President, Vice-president, Secretary, Joint-secretary, Treasurer and Councilor for the Apex Council.
The elections this time assume significance as former Secretary of Odisha Cricket Association Ashirbad Behera who is in judicial custody for involvement in a chit fund scam is not in the fray. His son Sanjay Behera is in race for the Secretary post. The elections are being held first time after the implementation of the Supreme Court-appointed Justice Rajendra Mal Lodha Committee’s recommendations to overhaul cricket administration in the country.
