Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra today reviewed the power supply situation in the State in a high level meeting. The meeting was attended by officials from Gridco, OPTCL, OHPC, OPGC along with other power producing companies and DISCOMs.
During the deliberations, the Chief Secretary has directed the officials to ensure power supply to all areas of the State both rural and urban. He also said as there is rising heat and exams of the students would commence shortly, the DISCOMs should ensure power supply to domestic users and commercial establishments.
He instructed the officials of the Discoms to make optimal use of hydro power. He also asked MCL to ensure coal supply to all power-producing units in the state. Railway authorities will also be asked to make available sufficient racks for transportation of coal to the thermal power stations in the state. The meeting was also attended by Principal Secretary (Energy) Nikunjabihari Dhal and officials from Discoms, Gridco, OPTCL, OHPC and OPGC and other power-producing companies.
