Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena and DGP Sunil Bansal on Friday appealed to the agitating drivers to call off their strike.
In a joint press briefing with the DGP, the Chief Secretary said that the drivers’ protest is turning violent due to involvement of anti-social elements. The Driver Ekata Mahasangha needs to look into it. The State Government has promised to resolve the demands of the Driver Ekata Mahasangha within three months, said the Chief Secretary while urging the drivers to end their protests.
Making a similar appeal, DGP Sunil Bansal said that the drivers are protesting despite assurance given by the Government. Police personnel were attacked yesterday. Agitators took law into their hands. Stringent action will be taken against them, he said.
