Odisha Delivers More Than 14294 Tons Of Oxygen In 24 Days

Bhubaneswar: Keeping its commitment made to the nation in fighting the Covid-19 and save each and every life needing Oxygen, Odisha has successfully sent 777 tankers of Liquid Medical Oxygen to as many as 13 states. A total of 777 tankers carrying 14294.141 tons of medical oxygen have been escorted so far from Rourkela, Jajpur, Dhenkanal and Angul districts of Odisha by Odisha Police. As many as 297 tankers carrying 5722 tons of oxygen have left Odisha Odisha in the last 24 days. Likewise, 211 tankers from Dhenkanal, 198 tankers from Jajpur and 71 tankers from Angul have carried 3346, 4047 and 1157 tons od liquid oxygen to other states.

According to a release by the Odisha Police, 236 tankers with 4642 MT of oxygen were sent to Andhra Pradesh, 204 tankers with 3464 MT of oxygen were sent to Telengana. Tamil Nadu received 22 tankers filled with 408 MT of medical oxygen. Similarly, Haryana received 113 tankers filled with 2121 MT of oxygen. Thirty four tankers with 566 MT of oxygen were sent to Maharashtra, while 399 MT of oxygen filled in 26 tankers have left for Chhattisgarh. As many as 47 tankers have carried around 921 MT of oxygen to Uttar Pradesh and 58 tankers with 1025 MT of oxygen were sent to Madhya Pradesh. 22 tankers with 410 MT of oxygen were sent to Delhi and 4 tankers with 107 MT oxygen were sent to Punjab in last 24 days. Karnataka, Bihar and Rajasthan also received six, three and two tankers respectively.

Based on the directives of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, a Special Cell was formed under Shri Y K Jethwa, ADG (L&O) as the Nodal Officer for coordinated action for loading and transportation of medical oxygen by Odisha to States facing deficit. A Dedicated Corridor has been set up with round the clock monitoring. All District SsP/DCsP and Range DIG/IG/CPs are supervising the movement personally within their jurisdictions. Odisha Police is committed to ensure that there is no delay in loading and transporting so as to promptly serve thousands of needy patients in UP, MP, Haryana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and other needy states.
