Odisha Demands Rs 7200 Crore for Developing Rail Infra

Bhubaneswar: Odisha has sought Rs 7,200 crore in the upcoming upcoming Union budget for developing railway infrastructure in the State.

The State Government has demanded the Centre to allocate a total of Rs 7,200 crore including Rs 3500 crore for ongoing projects and Rs 3700 crore for new projects in this year’s Railway budget, said BJD Rajya Sabha MP Amar Patnaik.

The State’s share in the railway budget was Rs 4,373 crore in 2020-21, a decrease of 27 per cent from 2019-20, when the State had received allocations of Rs 5,993 crore, as per reports.
This year also the Union Budget is going to be tabled on February 1.
