Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Secondary Education on Wednesday urged the District Education Officers (DEOs) to provide information on availability of teachers and non-teaching staff of high schools in their respective headquarters and monitor the online educational transactions.
Though online teaching learning process is going on in most schools there are visible gaps because of inadequate supervision and cohesive teamwork. When the Government is paying full salary and restrictions imposed earlier during lockdown have been relaxed during different phases of unlock, absence of teachers from headquarters on the plea that schools are closed and students are not coming to schools, is not acceptable, the Directorate of Secondary Education told the DEOs in a letter.
The DEOs have been asked to assess school wise who were the members of staff not available in headquarter even for one day in the last week of September 2020.
The DEOs have also urged to provide data on number of school wise teachers (except PET) who have not imparted a single lesson online through platforms like Zoom/Google Meet/Microsoft Team etc.
The Directorate of Secondary Education also asked the DEOs to find out number of school wise teachers (except PET) who have not followed “Odisha Sikshya Sanjog” even for a single day in September.
The DEOs have also been asked to monitor number of school wise teachers including PET who have made less than 20 calls to students in September to enquire about continuance of study through of DD-(Odia), Dikshya, Madhu App where provisions of online teaching have been made available.
Apart from teaching the services of teachers are also required in other areas of COVID management, the Directorate said while urging them to remain present in their respective headquarters for online teaching.
