Odisha: DG Fire Services Asks Officers to Review Fire Safety Measures at COVID Hospitals, CCCs after Ahmedabad Incident
Bhubaneswar: After the fire accident in a COVID hospital in Ahmedabad in which eight patients died, the Odisha DG Fire Services has asked the officers to review fire safety measures at various COVID hospitals and COVID care centres in the State.
“We have directed our Asst Fire Officers & Dy Fire Officers to visit the covid hospitals & covid care centres under their respective jurisdictions, review the fire safety measures and deficiencies, if any, advise the authorities on taking proper measures”, Satyajit Mohanty, DG Fire Services informed.

At least eight patients died after a major fire broke out at a Covid-19 hospital in Ahmedabad in the wee hours of Thursday.
All eight victims, including five men and three women, were novel coronavirus patients admitted to hospital. They were being treated at the ICU ward of the Covid-19 designated Shrey Hospital in Navrangpura area of Ahmedabad, according to reports.
