Bhubaneswar: Direct flight services from Bhubaneswar to Singapore and Bangkok will commence from tomorrow.
IndiGo airline will operate the direct flights from the state capital city to these south-east Asian cities.
Earlier, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had opened the air ticketing to Singapore and Bangkok facilitating people of Odisha travelling to these cities at a fair price.
In last few years, the aviation traffic in Odisha has seen immense growth. Though the domestic flight connectivity has seen a noticeable improvement, Odisha Government has come forward to make sizeable contribution to ensure direct international flight connectivity between Bhubaneswar and world-class destinations to meet the people’s aspirations, the Chief Minister had said while opening the air ticketing to Singapore and Bangkok.
The Chief Minister had flagged off the maiden flight from Bhubaneswar to Dubai at the Biju Patnaik International Airport on May 15.
The direct flight service to these global destinations will promote job opportunities for the youth of Odisha, open up tourism potential of the state and provide boost to IT and ITES sectors in the State.
