Bhubaneswar: As senior citizens are tend to more vulnerable to online frauds and scams, the Odisha Electronics and Information Technology (E&IT) Department has given important cyber safety tips for them.
With proper precautionary measures and tips on cyber safety, the senior citizens can learn to decide what to share and what to avoid online, and protect themselves from falling prey to hackers, the E&IT Department stated.
Here are the E&IT’s Cyber Safety Tips for Senior Citizens
• Make sure to have an updated ant-virus/firewall installed
• Never open or click unrecognized email, attachment, link, ‘too good to be true’ offers & promotions
• Practise good password management.
• Don’t share login credentials/personal details with strangers
• Always verify e-commerce and banking sites
• Never leave your device unattended or in the hands of unknown people
