Bhubaneswar: Odisha has emerged as a leading State in India’s fight against malaria in the World Malaria Report 2020 released by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The State witnessed a 40.35% decrease in cases in 2019 compared to 2018 with DAMaN initiative playing a key role in controlling the disease.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has expressed his satisfaction over the achievement.
“In a stellar achievement, #Odisha emerged as a leading State in India’s fight against malaria in @WHO ‘s World Malaria Report 2020. The State witnessed 40.35% decrease in cases in 2019 compared to 2018 with DAMaN initiative playing a key role in controlling the disease”, the CMO tweeted.
