Bhubaneswar: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Police arrested another accused in the multi-state job racket under the name of “Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan”.
The accused has been identified as Jairam Tiwari of Bihar. He was arrested under sections 420/467/468/471/120-B IPC r/w Sec.66 (C) of IT Act.
Tiwari will be produced before the SDJM Court in Bhubaneswar, the EOW said.
Earlier, the EOW had arrested Dharampal Singh, the mastermind of the inter-state job fraud racket that was operating in 17 states including Odisha.
Tiwari, the main associate of Dharampal Singh, had received and misappropriated Rs 35.83 lakh from the account of “Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan”. He was also the co-producer of a film produced by the accused Dharmapal Singh from the amount received through the fake advertisements in the name of Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan.
The fraud organisation has a registered office in Delhi, and other offices in Mumbai, Bhopal and Dehradun. It has allegedly duped the job aspirants of Rs 6.6 crore.
The amounts collected from the candidates were deposited in different accounts managed by Dharampal Singh.
The scamsters were using six to seven shell companies for routing and laundering the ill-gotten money, and also routed the money through a Mumbai-based film production company.
The Gramin Rojgar Kalyan Sansthan invited applications for various jobs like district and block coordinator, computer operator, block surveyor etc., prescribing the educational qualifications and the remuneration for the individual posts.
The advertisement also contained the name of the website www.grks.org. To gain the confidence of the job aspirants, they also offered reservations and concessional fee as it is done for government jobs, the EOW said.
