Odisha Extends Validity of Motor Vehicle Documents till December 31

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Transport Authority (STA) announced the extension of validity of vehicle documents till December 31.

In an order, the STA said that the validity of Fitness, Permit (all types), Driving License (DL), Registration Certificate (RC) or any other concerned documents related to Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, which had expired since 01.02.2020 or would expire by 31.12.2020, the same may be treated to be valid till 31.12.2020”.

Here is the details:

Fitness Certificate: Fitness Certificate of all motor vehicles which had expired since 01.02.2020 or would expire by 31.12.2020, such documents will be treated as valid till 31.12.2020.

Registration Certificate of Non-transport vehicles: Registration Certificate of Non-transport vehicles which had expired since 01.02.2020 or would expire by 31.12.2020, such documents will be treated as valid till 31.12.2020.

Driving License: Driving Licenses which had expired since 01.02.2020 or would expire by 31.12.2020, such documents will be treated as valid till 31.12.2020.

Learner’s License: Learner’s Licenses which had expired since 18.03.2020 or would expire by 31.12.2020, such documents will be treated as valid till 31.12.2020 as the Driving Licenses test has been cancelled w.e.f. 18.03.2020.

Goods Carriage, Contract Carriage, Private Service Vehicle and Educational Institution Bus Permits: Goods Carriage, Contract Carriage, Private Service Vehicle and Educational Institution Bus Permits which had expired since 01.02.2020 or would expire by 31.12.2020, such documents will be treated as valid till 31 12.2020.

Stage Carriage Permanent Permits: All Stage Carriage Permanent Permits and permits issued by Reciprocating States Countersigned by STA. Odisha on . interstate routes which had expired since 01.02.2020 or would expire by 31.12.2020. such documents will be treated as valid fill 31.12.2020.

No extension to Pollution Under Control Certificate and Temporary Permit validity is given. The vehicle owners must obtain Pollution Under Control Certificate before expiry of the same to avoid penal action, the order added.
