Odisha Finance Minister Presents Rs 1.5 Lakh Crore Budget for 2020-21

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to boost inclusive growth, Odisha Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari today presented the annual budget of Rs 1.5 lakh crore for the 2020-21 fiscal.

It is the highest ever Budget that Odisha has ever presented. The outlay of the State Budget was Rs 1.39 lakh crore in the last fiscal.

Reading the Budget from Ipad for the first time, the Finance Minister said that the Budget focuses on boosting agriculture sector, expanding irrigation, improving healthcare, tourism, education and skill development, among others.

Key Highlights:

  • The total administrative expenditure is estimated at Rs 65,665 crore.
  • Rs 150 crore has been allocated for the development of Lingaraj temple
  • Rs 3208 crore has been allocated for the development of Puri
  • Rs 695 crore has been allocated for Puri for 2020-21 fiscal
    Irrigation facilities to 1.84 lakh hecters of land
  • Rs 7700 crore has been allocated for health sector
    OUAT to become a Centre of Excellence
  • Rs 150 crore has been allocation for agriculture research
  • Rs 3915 crore has been allocated for KALIA Yojana
  • Rs 1108 Crore has been allocated for Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana
  • Rs 1038 crore has been allocated for Food Security Scheme
  • Rs 22,631 crore has been allocated for education and skill development
  • Rs 400 crore has been allocated for Adarsha Vidyalaya
  • Rs 540 crore has been allocated for Parvati Giri Irrigation Project
  • Rs 500 crore has been allocated for urban housing development
  • Rs 635 crore has been allocated for Nabakrushna Choudhury Secha Unnayan Yojana
  • Rs 1718 crore has been allocated for Madhubabu Pension Yojana
  • Rs 3250 crore has been allocated for rural water supply
  • Rs 3,962 crore allocation proposed for PMAY Gramin and Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana
  • Rs 800 crore has been allocated for Mid-Day Meal
