Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has asked the district administrations to submit expenditure details of Temporary Medical Centres (TMCs), which have been opened in gram panchayats for the institutional quarantine of the people.
Panchayati Raj Department Secretary DK Singh wrote to the Collectors, BDOs, and Project Director of DRDAs seeking details of expenditure of TMCs by June 19.
“In order to maintain the financial propriety and Books of Account, the civil construction work of each TMC should be measured, check measured and total expenditure incurred on all items of work like civil construction, electrification, bed, bathroom, toilet, and drinking water shall be assessed (GP wise, Block wise and District wise) and be furnished the details of such expenditure to the department within seven days positively,” the letter stated.
The district administrations have also been asked to form a team comprising of BDO, AEE, JEs/ GPTA, GPEO, and the Sarpanch of the GP at block level to conduct physical verification of each TMC and quantify the work in physical terms and assess the exact expenditure incurred, it added.
Currently, there are 16,813 TMCs in across the gram panchayats in Odisha.
