Odisha Govt Enhances Monthly Remuneration of Art and Sports Teachers 

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced an increase in the monthly remuneration of temporary art and sports teachers engaged in the government Upper Primary Schools in the State.

As per the decision, the salary of art and sports teachers has been enhanced from Rs 7,000 to Rs 10,000. Besides, they will be given a salary for 12 months instead of 10 months.

The female art and sports teachers are also entitled to maternity leave like other government employees, according to an official release issued by the CMO.

This move will benefit as many as 4,605 arts teachers across the State.

It is worth noting that the art and sports teachers had drawn the attention of the 5T and Nabin Odisha Chairman Kartik Pandian regarding their problems.

The temporary art and sports teachers have been engaged to train children in art and physical education in some of the upper primary schools of the State.
