Bhubaneswar: In a major decision, the Odisha Government on Wednesday hiked the salary of Junior Teachers employed in the primary and upper primary schools across the State.
As per the decision, the salary of Junior Teachers has been increased from Rs 13,800 to Rs 20,000. It will be applied retrospectively from 01.01.2023, benefiting 12,784 junior teachers in the State.
An additional Rs 95 crore will be spent annually for this by the State Government.
Taking into account the various demands of Junior Teachers (those who have worked in planned positions for 3 years) employed in primary and upper primary schools in the state, the Government has decided to pay Rs. 20,000 instead of Rs. 13,800 per month, according to an official release.
It is worth noting that during the visit of 5T Chairman Kartik Pandian to different districts, the Junior Teachers drew attention to their problems. Accordingly, a decision has been taken to enhance the salary of Junior Teachers.
