Bhubaneswar: In view of spike in COVID-19 cases in New Delhi and its nearby places, the Odisha Government has issued an advisory for special measures at the railway station and airports in the State to keep the infections at bay.
“Hundreds of travellers are returning from Delhi and its nearby areas to the State by trains and flights. Hence special measures should be taken for the screening of the passengers at the railway stations and airports,” according to an advisory issued by Health Minister Naba Kishore Das to Additional Chief Secretary of Health Department.
As per experts, Delhi has witnessed a surge in Covid-19 cases due to the XE variant of the virus. However, the new mutated variant of the virus is yet to be detected in Odisha.
