Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, the Higher Education Department has issued detailed guidelines for the conduct of the final semester examinations for under graduate (UG) and post graduate (PG) exams in the state.
Here are the guidelines:
(A) Final Semester/Year UG and PG Examinations:
1. All State Public Universities and Autonomous Colleges shall compulsorily conduct the final semester/year UG and PG examinations between 20.09.2020 and 10.10.2020 as per the revised guideline of UGC dated 06.07.2020. (The State Government has already made a request to UGC for extension of the deadline by ten days.)
2. Pending Back Paper examinations of Final Semester/Year UG and PG students shall also be conducted quickly as per the UGC revised guideline dated 06.07.2020.
3. If need be, examinations can also be conducted on holidays.
4. Publication of results of final semester/year UG and PG examinations, including back paper examinations, must be made by 31.10.2020.
4. Special examinations shall be held for those who cannot take the final examinations now for whatever reason(s). But these special examinations will be conducted by the Universities / Autonomous Colleges once the Covid-19 situation improves, hopefully by December, 2020.
6. For conducting examinations in physical mode, the Standard Operating Protocol (SOP) communicated by MHRD Office Memorandum dated 06.07.2020 must be followed.
(B) Intermediate semester/Year UG and PG Examinations:
7. Universities and Autonomous Colleges shall follow the UGC original guideline dated 29.04.2020 regarding Intermediate semester/year examinations and publish results by 31.12.2020.
(C) General Instructions:
8. Each University and Autonomous College shall chalk out its own plan and strategy for conducting examinations within the prescribed deadline by following appropriate UGC guideline.
9. Universities/Colleges shall also provide necessary support to Odisha State Open University for conduct of its examinations through OSOU Study Centers.
10. As it is a time-bound task. University/College authorities can call any employee (both teaching or non-teaching) to duty on holidays and vacations for smooth and timely conduct of examinations, valuation, result publication and ancillary purposes.
11. These decisions am also applicable to Final Year/ Final Semester examinations of DDCE (Utkal University and Fakir Mohan University), all types of Teacher Education Programmes (2 Year B.Ed. Degree/3 Year Integrated B.Ed. KEA. Degree/ 4 Year Integrated B.A. B.Ed./13.Se. 11.F.d. Programme) and all Self-Financing Courses/PPP based Self-Financing Courses.
12. These decisions are not applicable to courses, including idol Tammalical/ Pharmacy Courses run under the aegis of other Departments of the State Government.
