Bhubaneswar: In a bid to expand the COVID vaccination drive in the State, the Odisha Government has sought suggestions for the establishment of vaccination centres in private hospitals, which are not empanelled hospitals under BSKY.
In a letter to Collectors and Municipal Corporation Commissioners, the Health and Family Welfare Department has asked them to verify and recommend the private hospitals, which are not empanelled under BSKY / CGHS, but meet the criteria for COVID-19 Vaccination Centres (CVC).
The criterions include sufficient cold chain equipment and capacity, sufficient rooms / space for waiting area, vaccination and observation post vaccination, sufficient number of trained vaccinators and verifiers, ability to manage the Adverse Events Following Immunization (AEFI), as per the norms and guideline of the Ministry.
The Collectors have been urged to assess the feasibility of such private hospitals in their respective districts to be declared as COVID-19 vaccination Centre and submit the proposal for the same as soon as possible.
Currently, the private hospitals empanelled under CGHS & BSKY have been designated as COVID-19 Vaccination Centres (CVC) along with Govt. Health Facilities to provide vaccination services in Odisha.
