Bhubaneswar: A day after Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik talked to his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee and assured all possible support to overcome the crisis triggered by cyclone Amphan, the Odisha Government has sent its teams to neighbouring state to assist in the relief and rescue operations.
The State Government has sent a team of 500 members, including 300 fire personnel and 10 ODRAF teams to assist in relief and rescue operations in Cyclone Amphan-hit West Bengal.
“Cyclone Amphan is one of the worst disasters to hit West Bengal. The people of Odisha stand by West Bengal during this unprecedented crisis”, the Odisha CM said.
“Odisha has sent a team of 500 members, including 300 fire personnel & 10 ODRAF teams to assist in relief and rescue operations”, he tweeted.
Earlier, during a telephonic conversation with the West Bengal CM, Naveen enquired about the intensity of the damage caused due to the extremely severe cyclonic storm and conveyed Odisha’s absolute solidarity with the people of West Bengal at this hour of crisis.
Naveen had also directed the Odisha Chief Secretary to remain in touch with his West Bengal counterpart and ensure all possible assistance to the neighbouring state..
