Jeypore: The Odisha Government is planning to boost coffee farming in Koraput district in a big way.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday said that coffee cultivation will be taken on 5000 hectare land in Koraput in the next five years.
Naveen made this big announcement during the distribution of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) smart health cards to the people of Koraput.
The Chief Minister said that the organic coffee of Koraput has now become a global brand. It has given employment to the women in the district.
Earlier in October, Naveen had launched a dedicated e-commerce platform www.koraputcoffee.org to promote the home-grown Koraput coffee.
The Chief Minister had said that Koraput coffee possesses high quality and can be developed to be a famous brand both inside and outside the country.
