Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government will soon come up with a new agricultural policy to further strengthen the farm sector in the State, said an official.
The State Government is planning to replace the agricultural policy 2013 and formulate a new agriculture policy with special focus on the income generation of farmers, informed principal secretary Saurabh Garg after attending a high-level meeting at the State Secretariat on the proposed policy.
Chief secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi presided over the meeting.
The agriculture department has sought suggestions from the departments concerned for formulating the new policy, Garg said.
A blueprint for the proposed policy will be prepared based on the suggestions, he added.
