Bhubaneswar: In a significant development, Odisha Government has decided to implement a common syllabus system for under graduate courses in all universities of Odisha.
According to sources, the syllabus under choice-based credit system (CBCS) will come up from 2019-2020 academic sessions.
State Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahu today held an interactive session with vice chancellors of state universities at Pustak Bhawan here in city
Speaking to media, Sahu said, “The uniform syllabus system will be introduced from this academic session. The common syllabus and time-bound examination will facilitate students for higher education.”
Meanwhile, the VCs have been instructed to take measures to fill up vacant lecturers’ post.
In addition to this, the state government will also extend financial aid and free coaching to 100 applicants of Civil Services Examination, said the Minister. “Those who have cleared prelim or main in UPSC or OPSC, they will be given financial aid and free coaching from this month. Till now, 86 candidates have applied for this, the minister added.
