Odisha Govt to Provide Diet Allowance for Doctors, Paramedics on COVID-19 Duty

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government today approved the proposal for providing diet allowance to the doctors and paramedical staff engaged in COVID Care Centres, COVID Health Centres and COVID Hospitals.

Additional Chief Secretary of Health department PK Mohapatra wrote a letter to District Collectors, Superintendents of Medical Colleges and Hospitals, CDMOs and other health officials in this regard.

As per the decision, daily diet allowance of Rs 240 will be given to each doctor and paramedical staff engaged in COVID care institutions.

The directive should be implemented with immediate effect, the letter said.

The diet allowance will be provided to the doctors and paramedical staff in the form of food and no financial incentives in this regard will be provided.

Funds for the diet allowance will be met from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), it added.
