Arrangements will be made to offer free tea to the drivers of heavy vehicles on the highways of the state during the night. The drivers will have free tea at hotels and restaurants on the side of the national highway, informed State Transport Minister Tukuni Sahu.

The Minister said that such measures will be taken to avoid accidents caused by sleep problems of drivers at night.

The drivers will also be provided basic facilities to take rest, she added.

The District Collectors will identify roadside eateries that will serve free tea to drivers at night. It is being felt that free tea cups will reduce drowsiness-related accidents at night.
