Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has decided to stop supply of COVID-19 vaccines to private hospitals with immediate effect.
In a letter to District Collectors, Municipal Commissioners and CDMOs, and PHOs, Additional Chief Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department, PK Mohapatra has asked them not to provide vaccines to the private hospital.
They have also been directed to withdraw vaccine stock from the private hospitals.
Earlier, the Government had approved setting up of government-sponsored vaccination centres in private hospitals as an extension of government CVC vaccination of 18 to 44 year age group only from the State procured vaccine.
In the wake of revised COVID-19 vaccination campaign, all vaccines will be supplied by Govt . of India for vaccination of 18 years & above citizens.
Meanwhile, the private hospitals interested for providing vaccination to citizens can procure vaccines directly from the manufacturer under the revised guideline, the letter stated.
