Bhubaneswar: A GST officer has been arrested by the Odisha Vigilance for allegedly taking bribe from a person to close a CT & GST case.
Chittaranjan Mohanty, CT & GST Officer, Enf Unit, Paradeep has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while taking bribe Rs.80,000 from a complaint to close a CT & GST case.
Further, Rs 1 lakh has been recovered from Mohanty‘s office Almirah,the source of which is being verified, the Odisha Vigilance said while adding that a case has been registered against the accused.
The investigation is in progress, it added.
