Odisha Guv Appeals to COVID-19 Recovered Persons to Donate Plasma

Bhubaneswar: With Odisha achieving milestone in successfully treating COVID-19 patients with plasma therapy, Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal today appealed to all coronavirus recovered persons to donate plasma, saying it will be a great humanitarian as well as spiritual service in the time of pandemic.

“Hon’ble Governor has appealed to all #COVID19 recovered persons to donate plasma which will be a great humanitarian as well as spiritual service in the time of pandemic”, the Odisha Governor tweeted.

The Governor’s appeal comes just a day after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik put his entire cabinet to mobilize the COVID-19 recovered persons to plasma for treatment of serious patients.

Earlier on Friday, the State has achieved a milestone with the first-ever recovery of a corona patient who had undergone Plasma Therapy.

The recovered patient is a 48-year old female of Cuttack who was the first patient of Odisha treated with Plasma Therapy at the Ashwini Covid Hospital.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has announced to start functioning of two plasma banks MKCG, Berhampur and Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar next month.

First plasma bank is already functional at SCB MCH, Cuttack while plasma therapy has already begun in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Berhampur.
